If you overdid it on a summer holiday this year,this brown bear could be your new spirit animal.

Okan the brown bear had to be wheeled to have a CT scan on a stretcher with stomach pains,after gorging himself on fruit served to him at a zoo in Istanbul.

He is,thankfully,fine,and now back home.

But the sight of his downcast face as the consequences of his actions caught up with him may be all too familiar,though maybe your poison was fermented grapes rather than fruit in general.

The bear went viral after footage of his predicament was shared online.

An update on his condition told how he is now back at home,where he has been having a bit of a detox,with cucumber and carrot on a platter instead.

It’s not the first time Okan has had to visit the vet for this.

Three years ago,while a youngster,he had another fruit binge and was taken in for treatment,which is actually how he got his name.

The name,which means ‘Archer’,is a popular name for humans living in the country,but less commonly given for bears.

When Okan was taken in for treatment last time,the new employee with him did not know his name,so gave his own name when asked,which was duly registered.

This time around,he was given a scan while aneasthetised,to check for any mass or blockages which could be causing the pain,as well as given a blood test.

‘There were no problems. He’s fine now,’ Park of Istanbul chairman Burak Memişoğlu told CNN Turk yesterday.

He said he was ‘tame and happy’ and would soon be hitting the pool to cool off.

The cause of the discomfort is thought to have been eating too much cold fruit too quickly.

Okan is not the only Turkish bear to suffer the consequences of overindulgence.
